My wedding photo booth

This isn't your average photo booth. I'm actually taking part in this one. Why is that? I'm married now. That's why! Back on August 20th, 2011 I married my best friend Kristin Lammi. It was the best decision I ever made and joining us in Duluth for the wedding were over 200 of our best friends and family members. I can't begin to express how thankful I was for everyone to come to Duluth and hang out for the weekend. It was an awesome weekend that I'll never forget.

Happy Birthday Evan!!

Evan turns four today. The last year has been amazing watching him develop his hilarious personality while also struggling with such things as "broken leg syndrome" every time we ask him to get something upstairs. I could go on all day with stories like the how he almost knocked all the teeth out of his mouth with a vuvuzela or his biggest concern with our baby-to-be (oh ya, did I mention my wife is pregnant? well she is, check out the first photo below, it's a boy! due in February!) is whether or not it will steal his toys. Either way, it's been an awesome year. Check out a selection of images from when Evan was three below. Happy birthday Evan!

MOE-to shoot with Moe

In Duluth's lakeside neighborhood is a boy named Jimmy and a dog named Moe. If you are ever around Lester Park in the late afternoon during the warmer months, you'll probably run into these two at some point. Both are relatively smaller specimens for their respective species, but both pack a ton of heart! Ok, enough with the cheese.

This past Monday night I traveled to my friend Jimmy's house with another friend, Mat, to take some photos of Moe the pug. This shoot had been in the works for a long time and we had a blast. Moe becomes the ideal photo subject when you wave a meaty treat in his face. I wonder if that works with people too? And you know what? Moe inflicted less damage to the white seamless backdrop than our friend/assistant Mat. Check out the infographic below to see the stark difference in damage distribution.

For now, enjoy the photos and do know that Moe is everyone's bro.

Rachel + Frank :: Sparta, WI Wedding Photographer

This was a wedding I was looking forward to for a long time. First, Rachel and I grew up on the streets of Sparta and graduated from high school together back in 2000. Second, it was a wedding in Sparta. SPARTA!!! I don't get home much during wedding season so it was definitely fun to be back, shooting a friend's wedding, with Diamond D's pizza (it's still Polak's to me) right down the road and Kwik Trips galore. I heart Wisconsin and I hearted (is that a word) this wedding. Congrats Rachel and Frank!

Hot Wheels & Hot Dogs: Hangin’ with Evan

Living with a three year old can be awesome, hilarious and frustrating. Those emotions often come out all in one day. Give the kid a new Hot Wheels car and he'll be occupied for hours. Serve him a hot dog and you'll be the best person on the planet. Try to get him to answer "why did you dump your milk out all over the floor for no apparent reason" and be met with "because I did" repeatedly often leads to head-scratching frustration. Such is life with Evan.
